The wardrobe doors are OPEN

introduction new blog welcome

Hey everyone, and welcome to 'The Wardrobe' aka my blog.

Now my shop is open and established and I am slowly growing my crowd and getting regular traffic, I wanted to add a blog for me to keep everyone up to date.

I will use this space to introduce new designs, ask questions, share my ideas, and talk to you about up coming ideas and events.

In the coming months I will be opening up my diary to hold 'Tee Parties' I will explain these in more depth as we go on.

But for now I want to give you a little introduction.

This is me!

So who am I, who is this person behind My Weekend Wardrobe, well its me Claire, I am a mum of 2, as of writing this my children are 9 and 13, I have always been creative, I have made cards, scrapbooks, smash books, crochet, sewing, attempted knitting several times, but my poor mum gave up trying to teach me, so one hook was better for me and so I took to crochet more.

In recent years I have stepped up my creative side after I was giving a Cricut machine one year for Mother's Day and was totally hooked, the things I was able to make were mind boggling.

After a while I started to realise all these amazing machines really did need to pay their way so put them to work, my first creative business was Craft Cabin Mum Designs, I made cake toppers, decals, vinyl stickers and occasional personalised clothing.

In December 2021 I decided that I was going to move to clothing over general crafting as I wasn't really enjoying the general craft and wanted to get my teeth into something bigger.

The birth of My Weekend Wardrobe

In January 2022 I relaunched as My Weekend Wardrobe, clothing with a simple message behind it, awareness, mental health, day to day struggles with a mix of fun.

In my day job I support clients who work in tough fields like mental health, and have seen first hand how quick bad mental health can turn your life upside down, and why we need to be talking more about it and making it less taboo.

Hence my need to having clothing that is comfy, stylish and has a point to it, awareness is key to a lot of our day to day worries, from stress, anxiety, overthinking etc, these can all lead to poor mental health.

You will see that I love tie-dye as well as acid wash aka bleach tie-dye which although a long process the results are amazing. Living in the UK bleach tie-dye is a little more tricky as the process really benefits from warm or dry conditions, and as we know the UK isn't really known for that too often.

I hope you will come along on this journey with me, I am manifesting a large unit to hold all my stock, lots of lovely customers and growing an amazing brand of clothing. With a clear message. Comfort, and tomorrow is another day.

Claire x
